Father, I know you want to protect your children, but I am not sure I believe in the rapture.Ā Shouldn’t it talk about it in the Bible?
Of course it would, if it were real.
I’m concerned with a couple passages that might give people a false impression.
Yes, I know.
The first is when the Angel of the LORD visited Abraham and told Him that if there was just 10 righteous people, God would not destroy the city where his nephew lived, and the second is when the Bible talks about the day of the LORD coming as a thief in the night.
What do you think of the thief in the night passage in 1 Thessalonians 5 ?
I think it speaks volumes about us being ready at any time, and that reminds me of being ready for death.
Well said.Ā What is man’s life, but a vapor?Ā That is why you need to be ready, not involving yourself in sin, and not becoming entangled in the world.
So there is no rapture?
Definitely not.
I imagine the tribulation comes at a time when there really aren’t any believers left.
That is accurate.
While we’re on the subject, what do you think of the Left Behind book/movie series that bucks against the truth in the book of Revelations?
I think it’s a dangerous game to write a pseudo-fictional book about the book of Revelations.Ā Most of it is made up.
There’s a warning in the book of Revelation that states that we’re not to add or to take anything away from this book.
Yes, and no scripture is of any private interpretation.
