So What’s Up With the Name?

MMany times in my life God has spoken to me; sometimes in ways I do not immediately perceive as Him. Although God can get our attention, I have found that many times, we need to show God that we are actively listening to Him. The name for this blog gets its story from a particular moment in my life when I was doing just that.

I remember one day when I was really trying to listen for God’s voice. I remember straining so hard to hear something from Him, for anything that I could latch on to. I had spent some time in prayer speaking; I thought maybe I could still my heart and do a little listening too.

I remember clearing my thoughts and just waiting for God to speak. I was expectant, I was primed, and I was ready. After about thirty minutes I started to get a little discouraged and was ready to give up. Then I heard a voice speak to me.

It said, “That’s good.”

I heard it, but it was as if heavy blankets had smothered it out. I pawned it off as a fluke.

“That’s just ramblings,” I thought to myself. Then I heard the voice again. This time it spoke a little louder.

The ramblings of the Spirit are seldom ramblings.

As I began to have faith that God was willing to speak to me, it opened a whole new world of possibilities and experiences.

Something to Think About
That was about thirty years ago and there have been times of great difficulty, great contention, and great trials since then. I hope that I am able to justly put my thoughts into words, for that is my aim.  Lessons come and go, like the setting and intake of the tide, but one thing remains the same, God’s unending springs of grace.  If you’re just joining us, please consider leaving your email address so we can update you of new posts as they are ready.  Thanks for visiting!  …and listen for that still small voice.
