Sweet Nothings

God, do you know a good sinners’ prayer?Ā  I don’t like the old one.

Of course I do, and it goes like this:Ā Ā

“God,
I want to get to know you more.
Amen.”

What about all that stuff about inviting Jesus into your heart?

Well, since you asked, I’ll tell you.Ā  I am opposed to saying that because if you invite Jesus into your heart, it symbolizes being under the body’s control.Ā  It makes a false impression and even waters down truth.

I think it’s awesome you kept it so simple.

Thank-you.

Something to Think About
It seems like there is so much to teach new Christians about the faith, but keep your prayers simple.

Matthew 6:5-7

And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men.Ā  Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But you, when you pray,Ā go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father whoĀ isĀ in the secretĀ place;Ā and your Father who sees in secret will reward youĀ openly. Ā And when you pray,Ā do not use vain repetitions as the heathenĀ do.Ā For they think that they will be heard for their many words. (NKJV)
