To the Chief Musician in Heaven. A Contemplation of the Word. A Psalm of Gary.
Why do you turn away,
And shut your eyes to the truth?
Sin is abundant where oppression increases,
But True Religion knows His own.
To let the oppressed go free,
This is what honors God.
When my oppressors eat,
The swill in their mouth,
Will turn to poverty,
As they drink of their own shame.
Rise up, O LORD. Don’t cast us off forever.
My bones ache from kneeling before your throne.
Though bliss is a wonder beyond distinction,
Your love has made me known.
