It’s upon us…
Just a few days away…
And all must approach him where he lay.
The inns’ creature comforts and the burning bright candle wicks left little in the way of need to go outside…. Or so it would seem.
In the warmth of the commons’ fireplace hearth in winter, there was no afterthought to sitting around in the muck worshiping a baby born in a manger.
And so it is in this hour…
Come in the true humility to approach this baby, this king, this savior…
He won’t be found in the lap of luxury, or on the pages of Sassy magazine, or tied up with bows underneath a Christmas tree, yet He was and forever will be, the greatest gift to all mankind.
Journey far and wide, over hill and dell, through the sharp cold winter air, come and worship at his feet.
Some traveled with gladness, from far, far, away; their joy at Christ’s birth was their strength.
Others who were staying at the inn… well, all they really needed to do was step outside.
So during this time of the year, please consider. Even if you haven’t traveled for Him for many moons, Christ is still the gift that is waiting beyond that rickety door…
Desire that gift above all; don’t let the plain brown wrapping paper fool you.
