Closing Argument

Icy glares and cold lit stares.
Fall on walls in even glares.
Beneath the flames of energy,
A time has come for you and me.
The silence opens and splits the night,
The calling is the heaven’s blight.
Satan rocks the icy grave,
Where door of death gave way to save.
Christ’s victory has spoken now,
But lend your ear to hear it how,
The prophecy the sword awaits,
Stands briefly by to seal death’s fate.
Satan bows, he takes the knee,
No longer is he the enemy,
No foe, no friend, but till the end,
His once exalted knee shall bend.
Hear it now, the floor does quake,
The fiend collapsed, the whole earth shakes,
He once was gifted to achieve,
But now slowly waits and sneers his teeth.
Christ was there with even stare,
Martyred saints around the square,
The devil glanced at the wounds he’d caused,
At the very first, they gave him pause.
Without a fire within his bowels,
Hell’s fire full of angry howls.
Give me justice, he could cry,
But justice has been delivered nigh,
A glance from the floor and to Christ’s sword,
And once more the burdened beast will roar,
Now to quiet, he gave place,
He knew what he would have to face,
Collapsed and broken upon the ground,
Trying not to make a sound.
A fear stirs within his bones,
Christ for him did not atone.
Weight crept up from beneath his feet,
Chains amassed, called “Victory!”
And as they pulled him down to hell,
Once more he snarled and felt compelled,
The devil wept and called Christ a liar,
“There’s no mercy as long as there is fire!”
Sunken down, and beaten in,
There’s no more thought to how he wins,
He’ll breathe the words his breath affords,
Jesus is King, and LORD of Lords!!!
