Hosanna 8

A Psalm of Innocence. My God, my Lord, my Friend.

Though the land wearies of pestilence,
     God is my comfort.
Send forth Your Spirit,
And renew the face of the Earth.
I will declare Your praise,
For in Your mercy I find hope
If I have found favor in Your eyes, O LORD,
Renew a steadfast Spirit within me,
Let my life testify of Your grace.

We are a discovery in your sight,
When we cry out in the night,
But if I am mute, is my sorrow hidden?
The LORD carries my pain,
As a martyr to my cause.

The LORD is the horn of my salvation,
And He favors those who seek reliance.
When my enemies lose footing,
They will suddenly fall down together,
But the LORD leads me to higher ground.

Though the ungodly conspire against me,
     You justify my intentions.
You bear my burden with tenacity,
     And with determination,
          You favor us.
Though You were troubled, hope has followed,
And I have greatly desired your beauty.
Though sin was my thought,
     You have kissed my lips,
     For Your sacrifice is pleasant.
