LLife is like sitting in a room waiting to interview for a job promotion. Some people worry incessantly about what’s going to happen, others are resigned to leaving it in God’s hands. If you’re smart you’ll say some prayers to calm your nerves. There are magazines and a TV on the wall to distract you from the larger issue, but when they call your name, the only thing that counts is how much time you spent preparing for that interview.
One meeting with the Bigwig can determine the entire course of your future. If you get the promotion, it’s not because you were qualified, it’s because you were recommended. Once promoted, you learn that you had stock in the company from the very beginning! Everyone who works there owns an equal share.
If you know the Boss’s son, you get the promotion. They decide to grant you tenure, a pension, and a mansion. Nothing and I mean absolutely nothing could ever be better, and then one day you realize that you don’t even actually have to show up for work anymore. Everything is taken care of from beginning to end, and every day there’s a new aspect of production to oversee, a new perk to enjoy, and new people to meet.
Best of all, the Boss has an open-door policy and he is the coolest guy ever… so laid back, and easy to talk to. You feel like you could tell Him anything and you do. Soon you find you are the best of friends, but, as if the icing on the cake, He ends up being your Dad too.
